The traffic volume in the national road N-547 is one third of that considered necessary in order to justify its twinning. Although it is a road with a high accident rate, there are cheaper ways to reduce accidents than the over €520 million spent on this highway. The construction works at some stretches are being rushed in order to be finished for the general elections of 2015, but fact that the works have been delayed and stopped time and again shows that this highway is hardly necessary.
