Polaris World was not the type of company that thought small. They were the largest developer of the region of Murcia, and their trademark was large-scale residential resorts built around a golf course. “Condado de Alhama” was supposed to be the jewel of their crown. This 9 million m² gated community was to harbor 15,000 villas and three 18-hole golf courses, but the crisis cut its wings and in the end only one golf course and 3,000 houses were built. The golf course is open, but most of the houses are still empty.
